Carly Rae Jepsen is a Canadian singer-songwriter and the third runner-up of the fifth season of Canadian Idol, which took place in 2007. She is known for her hit single, “Call Me Maybe”, which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been dubbed "the song of summer 2012". She is also known for her girly, poppy, vibe and catchy lyrics. She attended Heritage Park Secondary School in British Columbia, Canada. She then attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria. In 2008, she released her first album, Tug of War, which featured a cover of John Denver's song, “Sunshine on My Shoulders”. The album was released on September 30, 2008 and distributed by Fontana/Maple Music. She also just made another hit single, “Good Time”, featuring Owl City! It was a top-ten hit, featured on Owl City’s The Midsummer Station.
